I have used Abacus twice in the last three years for large projects. Most recently a new electrical panel, tri fuel portable generator with all connections including power transfer box, surge protector, and soft starts for both ac units. In addition to that they installed a chandelier in a difficult area. I chose Abacus because three years ago they installed three new toilets, bathroom fixtures, water heater, and a new garbage disposal. I was so impressed with the quality of work then that I chose them to return for my latest project. I was again delighted with their quality of work performed. Quality of work performed is my number one priority and Abacus has never let me down. I will use them in the future for all my household projects. Thank You ~ Rob R

From start to finish, the service received by Abacus was exemplary. I contacted them through Angie's List and got a response within minutes. I asked a few questions, and every one of them was answered, quickly, politely and thoroughly. We had an appointment setup within a few hours. Aaron came to our house this morning to fix our plumbing issue. He was knowledgeable and friendly and fixed the problem on the spot. He went through everything very thoroughly and we felt completely comfortable having him do the work then and there. He also gave us a quote for a future job which I am confident we will go with. The price we paid was fair and I have felt looked after all the way. We will certainly be using Abacus again and recommending the company to anyone that will listen. ~ Thomas P

Abacus was called out to clear stoppage in kitchen sink. I tried to solve problem by using drain cleaner, with no success. In the meantime we disovered main drain from coil in HVAC system was com;letely stopped up. Brett was able to take care of both issues with a lot of work in the extreme heat! Brett also used a camera to show us how the kitchen line in the foundation was almost completely closed off. He recomended that we needed to pressure wash out the line or we would continue to have issues. Our house is 30 years old, so asked him to clean out the line and he was able to complete all work that day. I would definitely use Abacus again. Their prices seemed to be in line with what I had seen on the internet. I give him 5 stars for service and clean up Thank you ~ M S

OMG! I am totally satisfied with Abacus service. From the initial phone contact to the completion of the service the experience was smooth and timely. My problem was solved in about 40 minutes from arrival. Mr. Israel Alverio was kind, thorough, efficient, and very professional with his service; furthermore, he was very courteus by giving me general information on how to check up my AC unit warranty coverage and other tips to be watchful for about the proper AC unit functioning. I am deeply grateful for his empathetic approach delivering his service. No doubt that I will immediately contact ABACUS should I ever need their services again. Abacus Plumbing & Air Conditioning is truly a great organization. I've used them, recommended to family and friends all over Houston. The staff is always friendly and goes out of their way to make your experience as nice as possible. The technicians for plumbing and air conditioning & heating are really great at what they do and always take care to wear shoe cover and clean up any mess created during a repair. The BAM and CLUB programs are great because they come to your house annually to inspect all our systems...ac, heating/furnace and even all the plumbing systems including water heaters, gas lines, drains, sewer, etc. And if/when there's a problem, they go out of their way to make good on it...that's almost unheard of in today's service industry. ~ Mike M

We had our heating, electrical and plumbing all inspected today! Dan was very professional! I appreciated him thoroughly explaining things I needed to look for with my air conditioner drip pan. I also appreciated him making sure I had a carbon monoxide detector so my family was safe! I feel reassured that my furnace is working properly going into the colder months! Micah was excellent! He made me feel comfortable that are electrical system was working properly. He made recommendations about things we may need in the future and made sure to let me know what was the most important issue that needed to be fixed urgently. I appreciate his quickness with making the repair and would definitely request him in the future for any electrical needs. ~ Laurie H

Today Abacus has sent the best technician, Vladislav Kolesnik, who promptly discovered the root problem of lights flickering and dimming, even though the electrical panel was upgraded one year ago. Other technicians either focused too much on selling new products, or on changing new parts. But Vladislav not only pointed out the real source of the flickering problem, he called Centre Point Energy directly and even waited until their crews arrived to explain to them the subtle evidence of power outage that we as laymen would not notice at all. Now no more flickering problem. He not only saved us from spending more money without solving the root problem, his professional and ethical attitude also increase our confidence in Abacus' warranty policy.. ~ Pablo C

Abacus comes out in the spring and fall to check all components with the A/C unit in the attic and unit on the outside every year . I'm so glad I am part of the VIP customer care program. Each time they come out when I call them and set up an AM appointment or PM appointment they always show up as scheduled. Me myself I go up in the attic to watch the tech do his job also I ask questions that always answers for me . When they check the outside unit I do the same watch them do their job . I ll also take photos which doesn't bother the tech. All the techs are professional? Have good attitudes and are really friendly. I'm happy I chose Abacus too install the new a/c and heating system , which was installed 5 years ago and I've never had any issues with. Jim Devlin ~ James D

From the moment we scheduled our appointment online to the arrival of the technician to our home was seamless. Abacus kept us updated via text, email and phone calls. Troy from Abacus Plumbing called before our scheduled appointment and updated us of his arrival time. Troy came out to our home and took care of a blockage we had in one of our bathroom sinks. At that time we decided to upgrade the plumbing under 2 of our sinks to make future access to pipework more homeowner friendly. Troy took care of the service with ease. He was completely professional and knew exactly what he was doing. Troy explained all the services and pricing and left the jobsite spotless. Terry & Malcolm re-piped our house following the winter storm (so many burst pipes!) and were so kind, professional and did such a great job keeping everything clean. It was obvious they respected our home & knew how disruptive this could be to us & did everything possible to make this better for us. We couldn't be happier with the work they did and despite some previous issues with Abacus, we will continue to use them as they've really gone above & beyond for us following this horrible storm. Our 22 year old water heaters were done, rusted out and only one was still working.I called several companies and Abacus had the best quote, their reviews where good and they could install the next day (on a Saturday) so I went with them. Scheduling Is done efficient and you get updates via text. Pedro arrived, together with a colleague and he explained what they were going to do. They tarped the floor in the house, de-installed the old heaters and another colleague hauled them off. Then they installed the new heaters, in our extremely hot attic, the guys did an excellent job and were very friendly. It took around six hours. I am very satisfied with the result, nice install and everything is clean afterwards. I would recommend Pedro and Abacus Company do everyone. ~ Koen Z

Kevin arrived on time wearing gloves and holding a freshly cleaned tablet. He gave me clearly stated quotes for the jobs that needed to be addressed. I was pleasantly surprised to find that he could affect the installations and repairs immediately. He was the consummate professional, making sure every task was done to perfection and leaving the areas spotless when finished. I am grateful for Kevin's attention to detail. He went the extra mile when he noticed a problem with an installation by another company that only required a simple fix, but if left unattended could have been dangerous. He fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes for no extra charge, leaving my family safe. Here to give praise to Sandra, who was answering the phones today. She was friendly & efficient, & had all my previous information available. (Abacus installed a new Lennox HVAC system in 2020) Sandra got me booked for our annual HVAC maintenance service for Thursday this week. I was pleasantly surprised because I usually end up booked 3-8 weeks out from when I call. (Making the appt kept slipping my mind so we're already into August now) Sandra offered appts for tomorrow & Wednesday, but I had conflicting obligations, but Thursday worked for me. I was really surprised that Sandra got me booked so swiftly. I can tell by Sandra's voice & her responses that she enjoys helping people & is a "people person." Abacus is lucky to have her. ~ Ann M

This was my first time using Abacus Plumbing. I selected them based on all of the 5 star reviews on Google. After my amazing experience with the service provided by their technician Robert, I can see why they have so many 5 star reviews. They work hard to earn them. Robert was extremely professional, thorough, and took all the time necessary to answer all of our questions. He presented us with several different options, but at no point did we feel pressured to make any decision in particular. He was very neat and left the work area spotless when the repairs were finished. He took the time to educate us on our system and discussed how to properly maintain it. I would highly recommend Abacus Plumbing and Robert in particular. This is how a plumbing experience should be! Thank you Robert! ~ Catherine G

From the time I called until my service call was completed the customer service was exceptional. when I first placed my call I was told a tech would call me with an eta. I received a call from the tech in 10 minutes. Then I received a text with the technicians eta, picture and a brief description about himself. Not to mention I also received a link to track his location. Abacus keeps you informed every step of the way. I had a blockage which was causing a backup in my tub and shower. I called customer service and Rick came out immediately. He was polite, fast and knowledgeable. He advised me of my problem and his suggestion to resolve the problem. My restroom was back in operation within 20 minutes. I would recommend this company and Rick to anyone. ~ Ms A

You customer service was stellar! It was one of those hot sweltering July Sundays and evidently everyone in Houston's A/C went out at the same time along with mine. I had three no shows from other services, when I called you. You managed to work me in and see me, even though it was late Sunday. You called me three times to reassure me that you were coming when you said and you did. Mr. Harrison was professional and no non-sense explaining each step in his diagnosis and repair. He also discussed options but did not attempt upscale or sell. The repair was quick, effective, and the price was right and the cool air was greatly appreciated. I have told everyone about your service have recommended you, and plan to call you again, if need be. Absolutely super and worthy of five stars! ~ Evelyn J

The Abacus Plumbing team, lead by Hector Ramirez, arrived promptly to replace a water heater in the attic. They were courteous, wore face masks at all times and wore shoe booties to protect the floor. They placed felt floor cover over the the hardwood floor to protect the flooring when they took the old heater to truck and when they brought the new water heater in with a dolly. They were very efficient and finished the job within the expected time. A roofer arrived shortly after the plumbers finished and promptly checked the vent piping that extended from the top of heater through the roof. The job was efficiently performed, and the team cleaned up after themselves. I was very pleased at how well the job was performed and I will use Abacus again. ~ Ralph D

The electricity in our house went bonkers tonight, and the night receptionist at Abacus (a very warm, professional lady who made me feel better while I was panicking, thanks Shakira!) was able to schedule an electrician tonight. When Cesar arrived he was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The first thing he did was assess the electric panel and discovered that there was an issue that needed to be assessed by Centerpoint before anything else was done. He explained how the issue was causing the cascade of nonsense in the electric system in our house. The grid people will be out soon to check on the transformer and the integrity of the line to the house, so hopefully this is resolved fairly soon so we don't roast too long. Overall I'm very happy with Abacus. ~ Rachel P

I listen to the Abacus commercial every morning while getting ready for work. Had an issue come up last night with my AC unit and called them this morning. They were able to get me into the first slot of the day today. I signed up for their annual service to become a member. When I called this morning and spoke to Lisa she was very helpful and got things done quickly to get me on the schedule. Stefan was the technician that came out and he was very professional and told me his recommendation to prevent this leak from happening again. He did a great job, offered to help me, and left everything in great condition. I will definitely always use Abacus because you know you'll be taken care of as soon as they answer the phone. This last Monday night which was a holiday, I ran into a plumbing emergency in that the main water line leading into the house broke. I was able to cut the water off, but I soon came to realize that the issue at hand was more than I could fix that night. I do not like to call companies that heavily advertise, but I was pleasantly surprised by Abacus in their professionalism and attention to detail in addressing and fixing the problem late at night. The woman plumber could not have been more friendly and attentive, and when on the first attempt she could not fix the issue, she buckled down and reworked the problem and got it fixed. It was not exactly cheap, but the situation she faced in the first place was not to code and now it is. Many thanks. MJC ~ Matthew C

I was having issues with a GFCI circuit. I made an appointment online and abacus assigned a technician who arrived on time. He diagnosed the issue, offered more than one solution and the pros and cons of each. After I decided on one, the technician scheduled a repair for the next day. The next day the repair technician arrived on time, competed the repair and solved the issue. Abacus, and both technicians kept me informed on when they would arrive, what they were doing and why and left the property clean of debris. This is the third time I have used Abacus, one was a different electrical issue, and one was a plumbing issue. All resolved with no issues. I will use Abacus for plumbing or electrical again in the future. ~ John B

We had a leak in the wall between the kitchen and the dining room. I called Abacus and they sent a plumber, Gregg, within the hour. Gregg worked tirelessly troubleshooting the leak to determine from whence it came. This process took a couple of days but he managed to determine it was a blocked and damaged AC drain that was causing water to back up and come up through a tiny hole in the foundation. He brainstormed and, instead of tearing up the foundation or our atrium to tunnel under, he simply rerouted the drain line from the roof area to the outside of the house. What a great guy and a great company! Love Abacus and would highly recommend them. We have used them for plumbing, electrical and AC. ~ Kimberly B

We purchased a new refrigerator and when the installers turned off the water to the old ice maker to install the water line to the new ice maker, the water turnoff valve began a slow leak. They tried to tighten the valve to stop the leak but it did not stop leaking.. We called Abacus and requested a plumber - thinking we would need a new water shutoff valve (our home is 28 yrs. old). Jason arrived first thing the next morning and was able to stop the leak without having to replace the valve. He could have told us the valve needed to be replaced and we would have believed him. Jason called an gave us an hour notice that he was on his way. Arrived on time and was very pleasant, courteous and professional. We will use the service again. ~ Mary Y

We are most grateful for the impeccable , thorough and stellar service provided from our amazing plumber, Jacques, today, as well as for the top notch customer service both he and the phone staff provided from the moment we called with a most unexpected situation this morning. We were amazed by the speed in which our request for service was accommodated, and within less than an hour of calling Jacques arrived, ready to help! He was most courteous and extremely patient with me, a true layman, and explained the problem at hand and the subsequent course of action, including all pricing options, most clearly. He was extremely attentive and most considerate of all our concerns as we chose which course to take. He was amazing!
